Muddy Feet® delivers Forest School for Farthinghoe School

Muddy Feet ® are delivering an annual Forest School programme for Farthinghoe Community Primary School. This fun nature-based programme is being delivered within walking distance of the School at Limes Farm.

The children and staff from Farthinghoe Primary spend the whole day outside participating in Forest School activities and even have lunch and snacks outdoors. Activities are child-led and have included shelter building and fire skills. The children took part in a wizard themed Christmas party, making potions from natural materials.

During the lockdown, we went virtual and Forest school Leader Jo did a great job of making videos about woodland habitats and tracking to help keep the children engaged. We have had great feedback from the children, who clearly enjoy this programme and we are looking forward to restarting outdoors after lockdown.

Alex Williams

Alex established MUDDY FEET® in 2013. A graduate in Environmental and Resource Science, Alex spent a year working with communities in the Philippines on a VSO placement. During this year she worked with rural communities to implement environmental projects, training local people in sustainable techniques to help preserve their local food and natural resources. Alex worked with communities to establish marine protected areas, mangrove reforestation, and establish livelihood projects.
