SEN Forest School 26th April and block booking
Enabling all children to access Forest School Muddy Feet is bringing a therapeutic approach to the woods. These supportive and friendly sessions are aimed at families with children with additional needs, such as Autism, Sensory Processing, ADHD, or any other disability.
These sessions are different as we bring in signing, visual timetables, scaffolding of sessions, emotion labeling and regulation to enable social and emotional development all within a wonderful woodland environment.
Sessions take place at Evenley Wood Gardens Friday afternoons 12.30 - 2.30 pm Each session lasts 2 hours and continues in all but extreme weather events.
Each session starts with a welcome circle. We will cover a range of activities some of which may be familiar to you as you may have done them as a child. Activities will include stories, playing games, making bird feeders, making wands, mud painting, making woodland creatures, treasure hunts, hill rolling, mini beast hunts, natural art, den/ shelter building, campfires, using real tools such as bow saws, knives and drills and much, much more! Each session includes drink and snacks and some time for free play in the woods.
A parent or carer must attend with the child; unattended children will not be allowed to stay at the session. This is due to Health and Safety and Insurance purposes. Please ensure you and your child are dressed for the weather and mud!
