We loved our Winter Solstice Muddy Explorers holiday camps. We listened to the sound of the woods going to sleep for the winter and talked about how the woods feels different from the Summer and Autumn camps. We talked about the shortest day and how the days would start to get longer from here. We made candles from the natural clay, dried them on the fire, and flavoured them with Lavender, we made lanterns, we gave all the children glow sticks and head torches to adventure around the wood in the twilight. We were very busy over the two days building dens, practicing fire skills, playing games, used the tools to make reindeer Christmas decorations. We toasted marshmallows, climbed trees, and splashed in the stream. We even got a glimpse of Father and Mrs. Chritsmas in the festively decorated woods. Every single child attending had been before and you could tell as they were relaxed in the woods and dressed for the weather, they were a real joy.
We are looking forward to our next camps in 2022 bookings can be made via the events listing.
